Training this week

Hope everyone is doing well.

The Alberta cup races were a great opportunity for the Yukon skiers to race in challenging snow conditions and with  a competitive field.

More than 500 skiers took part in the weekend races.

The Yukon skiers did well with multiple top ten results and 2 podium finishes for Derek today and yesterday against some of the best skiers in Western Canada.

For training this week, we will focus on the skating technique to take advantage of the mild weather in the forecast.

Saturday will be the first Dom Sumanik race held in skating. I will enter everyone so no need to register yourself into the event.

Monday: ski in skating and do some speed.

Tuesday: ski in skating and review ski preparation as well as sport psychology.

Thursday: ski in skating with some race preparation and ski preparation.

Saturday: Don Sumanik races
