Training this week

Hello everyone, good work on the sprint challenge yesterday. It was great to watch everyone battling it out on the short course :-)

For Team training this week, we will be doing the following:

- Monday Oct 15 from 4-6 pm: We will moved additional wood chips onto the existing trail to lengthen the trail we have been using by a few hundred meters. That should take about 45 min. Afterward, we will go roller skiing and do 2 sets of 5 sprints.

- Tuesday Oct. 16 from 4-6 pm: Running and plyometric on Telemark Hill starting at 4:45 pm. Make sure to have a jacket as the temperature drop quickly around 5:30.

- Thursday Oct. 18 from 4-6 pm: Running for 45 min.  then we will do diagonal skiing intensity (zone 3-4) on wood chips and take video for review after the workout.

A few technical tips to focus on:

pushing your foot forward on each stride
good ankle flexion
upper body upright in steep terrain
good weight shift on both sides
reaching forward with the shoulder on pole plant
leg and arms extension

- Saturday Oct. 20 from 11-1: Weather dependant, we might roller ski if the warm weather continue this week, go skiing on rock skis higher up if the snow that came down overnight survives for a week or go hiking up to Mt-Mac if skiing is not an option.

You should all have your rock skis ready by now as we will start skiing as soon as we have enough snow on the ground to ski safely.
