May 2011 camp

Information for the Camp in Dyea
May 20-23, 2011

Hello everyone, we will be leaving for Dyea from Whitehorse (Mt-Mac) on Friday May
20th at 6:30 pm. We will stop at the Carcross Cut-off around 7:00 am to pick up any
skiers living close to that area.

Schedule for the trip:
Fri. May 20: Leave at 6:30 pm from the Ski Chalet, stop at the Carcross Cut-Off at 7:00
Then drive to Dyea to set up camp on the flats

Sat. May 21: Skiing or a mix of hiking & snowshoeing depending on conditions
After the workout, we will go down to Skagway for a stroll in town. In the
afternoon, we will go for a hike/run around Skagway. Make sure you have
your running stuff with you and a medium size day pack. Bring a few US
$$ for snacks or treats. For the morning workout, you will need
snowshoes, your skate boots and poles. I will bring jib skis for everyone
in case we can ski.

After the hike in the afternoon, we will go back to Dyea to make dinner.
You should get organised to share a tent with someone on the team. I will
supply the dinners; just bring a plate, a cup and your utensils and food for
the breakfasts and snacks for the lunches. I will have a large camping kit
with everything we need for all the cooking.

After Dinner, we will play games in the campground.

Sun. May 22: Depending on conditions, we will either go for a hike, a snowshoe or a ski
or a combination of all three. In the afternoon, we will do a bit of strength
and running in Skagway.

Mon. May 23:Again depending on the weather, we will go for a long workout in the
morning, then drive back to town in mid afternoon.
