Hello everyone, I have had many requests for wax suggestions for the Buckwheat so I thought I would offer a few ideas to help out the skiers taking part in the race Saturday.
Glide wax: soft glide wax in the 0 to -5 temperature range like violet, red, yellow depending on the brand.
Kick wax: sand the wax pocket then apply a base wax covered with soft kick wax like Swix VR 65-70-75 (or equivalent brand) depending on snow and air temperature at race time. Another option if the snow is transformed is to use a mix of klister and hard wax like Rode multigrade or Start Universal klister mixed with a warm kick wax in the zero degree range like Rode Violet.
Good luck to skiers taking place on Saturday. Alain
