Last ski before Christmas tomorrow

Hello everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the holiday so far :-)

Tomorrow will be our last team practice before Christmas. The plan for tomorrow is as follow;

- meet at 11:00 and go for a ski in skating as the weather will be mild.

- meet in the Grey Mountain Room at 12:30 as Allan Frostad, chair of the HP Committee will come to talk about the selection for the World Junior Trials and the Canadian Eastern Championships trip. The HP Committee met to review the selection criteria and the team will be announced Thursday.

- It looks like many more athletes met the points standard for the Eastern Championships than the Team can accommodate (12 skiers). The B-Tour option will come into play and has already been discussed with the HP Committee. Further discussion and planning will take place after the meeting. Parents are welcome to attend the meeting with Allan.

After the meeting with Allan, I was hoping to have a quick Chinese gift exchange. Please bring a recycled gift (something from your house with a value under $10) that you would like to pass on to someone :-) Also, bring a few baked goodies to share amongst us.

We will be done by 1:30 or so.

Highlights from the NORAM in Rossland

- Natalie earned her highest CPL point ever in the classic race with an 89.17. Her skate race was also higher than her previous best ever CPL at 83.79. A great way to start the season!

- Hannah D., Mira, Amanda and Hannah J also all achieved best ever CPL points in the classic race on Sunday. Way to go girls!

- Caelan achieved one of his best ever CPL points on Sunday when he finished second in the classic race as a junior!

All in all, a promising start for the team this past weekend with a lot of great results. Way to go Team!
