Good day for Yukon skiers in the skate pursuit

It was a good day overall for the team in the pursuit race done using the skating technique today with a total of 11 top 10 finishes in either the skate race only portion or the combined pursuit. This was a new and exciting format at the Ski Nationals introduced this year.

Juvenile Boys

Derek Deuling 2nd in the pursuit and 4th fastest time for the skate portion
Victor-Emile Thibeault 9th in the pursuit and 7th fastest time for the skate portion
Sasha Masson 12th in the pursuit and 10th fastest time for the skate portion
Ben Puskas 31st in the pursuit and 39th fastest time for the skate portion

Juvenile Girls

Sonjaa Schmidt 11th in the pursuit and 20th fastest time for the skate portion
Dahlia Lapointe 19th in the pursuit and 15th fastest time for the skate portion

Junior Women

Natalie Hynes 4th fastest time for the skate portion. Did not race the classic portion
Hannah Deuling 7th in the pursuit and 10th fastest time for the skate portion

Junior Girls

Amanda Thomson 11th in the pursuit and 10th fastest time for the skate portion
Hannah Jirousek 21st in the pursuit and 19th fastest time for the skate portion

Open Men

Knute Johnsgaard 7th in the pursuit and 5th fastest time for the skate portion
Marcus Deuling 30th fastest time for the skate portion. Did not race the classic portion
