Training for the week

Hello everyone, it was great fun to watch everyone racing fast around the biathlon trails yesterday. Great work everyone!

For training this week, we will be doing the following workouts;

Monday: ski in skating and meet at 4:45 for specific strength in front of the wax room. Grab your classic poles for the workout (3 X 10 min.) Do a good warm down afterward.

Tuesday: ski in skating and meet in the ski stadium for speed work at 4:45. After the speed workout, skiers leaving for the Eastern Championships on Wednesday will meet in the wax room to travel wax their skis and pack ski bags.

Wednesday: the team traveling to the Eastern Championships is traveling. Alain will be leaving for Sochi from Ottawa on Saturday night and will be back in Whitehorse after the Olympics. Amanda will lead Blue Squad when she returns from the Eastern Championships.

Thursday: ski in classic and do some intensity in zone 3 and 4. You will need a good base binder and some sticky wax for kick. (4 X 3 min, first one in zone 3 and next 3 in zone 4)

Saturday: No official team training at 11:00, do a long slow ski in classic with a teammate or a friend during the day.

Monday: sport psychology with Tracey. 4:00 Solstice, 4:20 Zoe, 4:40 Leif 5:00 Green Squad skiers as a group. Specific strength at 4:45 from the wax room. Grab your classic poles for the workout (3 X 10 min.) Do a good warm down afterward.

In February, there will be two races, Marsh Lake on Feb. 8 and Mt-Lorne on Feb. 22.
