Hello everyone, I hope you all managed to enjoy your weekend despite the rain.
For training this week, we will do the following;
Tuesday: running and plyometrics (1 min. on 30 sec. off). Have a spare jacket.
Thursday: because of the work party/Nick celebration on Saturday, we will roller ski on Thursday instead. Roller skiing with zone 3-4 intensity.
Saturday: go for 1:00 run then join for the WCCSC BBQ/work party
12:00-12:30 Family BBQ and Celebration of Nick Stratis retiring from over 20 years of volunteer coaching for CCY. Athletes have written thank you cards for a book. Cards will be available on Saturday for parents, but if you are unable to come, please write a note of appreciation and email it to Amanda for inclusion in the book. Come celebrate Nick, have lunch, but don't tell Nick as it's a surprise and he won't show up if he finds out :)
12:30 Rain or Shine Ski Club work party. It takes a community to maintain over 70 km of trails as well as facilities for a non-profit club. We hope athletes and parents will volunteer some time on Saturday to help with : painting, organizing sheds, snow fencing, wood cutting, moving brush, kids adventure trail, cutting willows, etc.... lots of different jobs for every one!
*bring work gloves
*work clothes
*hatchets, axes, saws, good hand pruners, machetes.....
