Good day for the Yukon skiers

Good day for the Yukon skiers at the NORAM races in Quebec earlier today.

The day started well for the Yukon Ski Team with Natalie Hynes winning the first race of the day, the 10 km skiathlon race used for selection to the World Junior Championships taking place later in January. It will be Natalie’s third participation to the World Junior Championships. Hannah Deuling and Amanda Thomson also had strong performances today with 10 and 12th place respectively.

In the Open Women’s competition, Dahria Beatty finished in third place in the 15 km skiathlon.

Finally, Knute Johnsgaard won the 30 km skiathlon while Graham Nishikawa finished second to Knute in a sprint finish.

The action will resume tomorrow with the skate sprint competition. The last event will be on Wednesday with the interval start classic races.
