Great day for the Yukon Ski Team in the sprints

It was another great day for the Yukon Ski Team earlier today in the individual sprints in classic held in spring like conditions.

In the open men category, the Yukon managed to have 2 skiers make it to the A final where Graham Nishkawa ended up winning the silver medal behind Lenny Vallas of the National Ski Team World Cup team. Also making the A final was Knute Johnsgaard finishing in 6th place for the day, 5th amongst the Canadian at the event. David also had a good day easily winning the B final after a fall in the quarter final. In the Junior Women category, two Yukon skiers managed to make it to the A final with Dahria Beatty winning the silver medal while Kendra Murray finished 4th inches away for another medal.

Overall, the team had a memorable day with sprint results far superior to what would be considered a good day in sprinting.

The action will resume Saturday with the mass start races held in skating. Stay posted. Alain
