Impressive race for Johan Olsson

It was a rare solo breakaway victory for the Swede Johan Olsson in the 50 km classic race. Most of the times these 50 km race are decided in a mass sprint finish.

It was a below par race day for the 3 Canadians entered in the race today with Alex Harvey finishing in 28th place while Graham Nishikawa finished in 48th place.

Overall these were World Championships were successful for Canada with a bronze medal for Alex Harvey in the individual sprint and a fourth place for Ivan Babikov in the 15 km individual skate race and a fourth place for Alex Harvey and Devon Kershaw in the Team sprint. Alain
