Hello everyone, we have decided to wait to host the "All Squad" event until we have sufficient snow to host in the ski stadium.
On Saturday instead of the "All Squad" event, we will ski in classic and work on technique with the video. The ski conditions have greatly improved today with the new snow and the grooming on the major trails. If we get additional snow tomorrow, the ski conditions should be great for the weekend.
Also, please pass along this note to your parents as there are upcoming official training coming up in a few weeks.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO PASS ALONG....
In order for the squad program to be a success we need to run races. We have a great group of people who run races, but many are parents of skiers who have been out of the program for many many years and are going to step down soon. WE NEED NEW BLOOD IN THE SYSTEM WHO WILL TAKE ON RACE ROLES!! Races are vital to CCY and they do not need to be onerous if everyone does their part. Please seriously consider becoming an official. Those already in the system are more than willing to mentor new people. You will not be left holding the ball without any support. It may sound dramatic, but if we do not get new people into the system, the success of your kids program is at risk.
Cross Country Yukon is offering a Level 1 Officials Course on Monday December 9th and Tuesday December 10th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Race Office. The course provides the basic information that you need to feel confident and comfortable as a volunteer. If there is enough interest, a Level 2 course is planned for early in the new year.
