Happy New Year

I hope everyone is getting a lot of visiting time with friends and family during the holiday.

It looks like the temperatures will moderate this coming week so it should be good to start skate skiing in a few days :-). A reminder that the focus for training during the next few weeks should be on building a strong training base with lot's of long slow ski including some speed and few intensity workouts. That should help everyone for the second half of the racing season in having some more consistent results as well as help everyone with recovery between workouts and races.

As you know, I will be off to the Tour de Ski next week to help with the race support for the National Ski Team. I will then fly to Thunder Bay to help support our Yukon skiers at the U23/World junior Trials in January (11-18). I will provide updates while I am away. If you need to contact me, e-mail will likely be the most efficient way to contact me with the time change.

I would like to wish all our athletes, coaches and parents a Happy New Year.

Here is the training schedule for the next two weeks;
