The expectations were somewhat lower today for many of the Yukon skiers. The skate sprints rarely brings the same excitement amongst our team. Let's say, short skate sprints on easy courses are not yet a Yukon specialty for most :-) It is worth nothing that everyone qualified for the heats in the afternoon which has not always been like that in the past.
Natalie Hynes, Dahria Beatty and Knute Johnsgaard were the only Yukon skiers to advanced past the quarter finals. Both Natalie and Knute made it to the A Final while Dahria made it to the B Final.
In the end, it was a great opportunity for all to improve their speed and tactics in skating.
Tomorrow, the team will compete in the individual skate races. Take care. Alain
