Hello everyone, just wanted to pass on a message from the CCY HP chair, Allan Frostad.
After much reflection, the Board of Cross Country Yukon, based on the recommendation of the HP Committee, has decided to modify the selection criteria for the 2017 Ski Nationals. After much consideration, both the HP Committee and the CCY Board of director has decided that the selection process this year created some inconsistency. For the first time in ten years, the International Performance Curve was applied creating a questionable ranking within the list of athletes who met the minimum points standard. For this reason, CCY has decided to amend the selection criteria for this year and nominate all 16 athletes to the A Team. This is an extraordinary measure for the 2017 Ski Nationals only. The HP Committee will be hard at work this spring exploring and revising the selection process. Please refer to previous blog post for additional information on that situation.
We are planning to have a meeting tomorrow with athletes and parents to further explain this decision. The meeting will take place at 5:30 pm in the Grey Mountain Room.
