Much better day for Canadian wax techs

It was a much better day for the wax technician team from Canada. The team of 7 technicians thinks they finally figured out the issue that has been plaguing the glide so far in the classic races since it got really warm in Sochi. Because of the huge difference in snow temperature between the sunny sections and the shady sections of the race course, the usual wax applcation on klister skis have been causing issues with the glide of the classic skis. Today, we realised that we had to use different skis with much thinner layers of klister to prevent icing of the wax in the colder sections of the race courses. The two Canadian skiers who skied the first two legs in classic today were really happy with their skis in the relay. Finally something to celebrate!

Team Norway with its 25 wax technicians today could not provide good classic skis to their 2 skiers in the relay and for the first time in years did not win a medal. This was a national disaster in Norway!
Another team which was one of the favorite for a medal today that did not deliver was the US team which finished in 9th place, a huge dissapointment for them.
