Great start for the Whitehorse Ski Club in the Team Sprint at the Nationals

It was a great first day of racing at the Ski Nationals for the teams representing the WCCSC in the Team Sprint competition earlier today.

In the Open Women category, the Whitehorse Ski Club managed to place two of its teams on the podium. The team made of Dahria Beatty and Emily Nishikawa managed to win the gold medal while the team made of Annah Hanthorn and Kendra Murray won the bronze.

In the open men category, the team made of Colin Abbott and Knute Johnsgaard won the bronze medal in a tight battle until the finish line.

Other notable result for the day;

Marcus Deuling and Caelan Mclean finished 7th in the final of the Challenge Boys

No other teams from Whitehorse made it to the final.

Tomorrow's race will consist of the individual interval classic races.

The weather is expected to bring a mix bag of precipitations and high winds. That should make for some interesting classic races.
