Short Skate Sprints Results

Today was the day for the Juvenile and junior skiers to compete in the short skate sprints. Everyone raced the same 1.2 km race course in near perfect snow conditions.

As expected, few of our young skiers who excel at distance classic skiing managed to qualify in the top thirty. Natalie and Simon were the only two Yukon skiers to qualify in the top 30 today and move on to the heats in the afternoon. For many of our young skiers, it was their first opportunity to compete in a sprint at a National level. It was an eye opener for many of them who were able to witness the speed needed to qualify in the heats. It will be a great source of motivation for many of our skiers for the dryland training season!
