Results from the the first race in TB

We were lucky today and managed to get a race in Thunder Bay. The weather had been quite cold since we had arrived on Monday but today the temperature managed to get above the legal -20 necessary to hold races.

Of the five Yukon skiers taking part today, the best placing came from Kendra who managed to qualify for the A final and finished in sixth place in the open women category. Annah qualified for the B final and finished 11th overall. Natalie who is competing in the open junior category qualified in 22nd place and did not managed to move beyond her quarter final finishing fifth in her heat. Finally, our two junior male skiers did not qualify for the heats and qualified respectively in 40 (Hudson) and 42nd position (Caelan).

Tomorrow should be a much better fit for most of the Yukon skiers as it will be held as a classic individual race.

The weather looks like it will cooperate as the temperatures should be around -12 at race time.

Cheers. Alain
