Tour de Ski Update, OPA results, THR info and AWG registration

Hello everyone, lot's of updates to share today;

- We just finished doing a team debrief after today's skate race in the TDS. The staff was trying to understand why the results were not as good as expected today. The comment from Alex was that his skis were great today but his body was not. He said that he felt OK in his warm up but had no power as soon as he started racing. A good reminder to all skiers that it is important to show up to a series of races well rested and full of energy. I think the skiers from the NST may have come into the Tour a bit under rested and are starting to feel the fatigue after many races!

- In a different part of Europe, three Yukon skiers took part in a European Continental Cup race earlier today. Emily had the strongest placing finishing 4th in a skate sprint while Dahria Beatty finished 18th and Knute Johnsgaard finished 27th.

- THR information, the race will take place in classic in order to allow the snow making to proceed in portion of the trails. Please see the following information;

TIM HORTON'S RACE

The Nationals committee is hoping to make snow starting Friday and going late into Saturday night!   This is super important so we can have good snow/race conditions for 400+ skiers in March.

What does that mean for us?   We may not be able to use the bridge or stadium, but we will still have a Tim Horton's Race!

1) Theme:  Fun and Funky SOCKS!   Go get those old retro socks out of dad's closet, those bright knee highs that you only bring out on special occasions, those leggings from the '80's that mom has hidden away,  show us anything bright, colourful and loud!

2) Format: Team sprints (CLASSIC) where each partner does 3 laps (over 12 and under 12 courses!) Hopefully we can set it up with challenges and obstacles for those under 12 or young at heart!)

3) Where: what may change for us is location:  watch the whiteboard on Saturday morning to see if we are in the stadium or some other creative spot!

4) Who:  your parents and siblings encouraged to come for the fun!   Watch the whiteboards for details about where to meet and how to sign up.

11:00-11:35 squad ski with coaches
11:35 everyone come to stadium (??)
11:35 matching and pairing partners
11:45-12:15 race

12:30 Tim Horton's snack!
